Krista + Evan Bloomingdale Golf Club Wedding | Bloomingdale, IL Wedding Photographer
One of the things that I love about photographing weddings is how each one is different. The story of every couple, their day, their details, their families. They are all so different, and yet everyone is filled with love and accomplishments. Krista and Evan’s love story began over 7.5 years ago when Evan helped Krista move into her dorm. They became friends, then roommates, and before they knew it, they were dating. While they were together through college, grad school and nursing school were a different story. Separated, yet still in love, they made it work despite the distance and time apart. Then they started their lives together, traveled together, and last year at the magical Biltmore Estate in North Carolina, got engaged.
Their wedding day was amazing. A true reflection of their love for each other and their families. I started the day at A Shear Encounter in Downers Grove where Krista and her girls were getting hair and makeup. Surround by her mother, father, and friends, we could see Krista beaming with joy from the moment we walked in. After all the girls were ready, we headed over to the hotel for the finishing touch…the dress & shoes! While the bridesmaids got in their dresses, Krista was helped by her mother and father. Her loving relationship with her parents was amazing to see and brought tears to my eyes more than once. After Krista’s reveal to her bridesmaids, it was time to go to the church., St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Winfield, IL. The church wasn’t chosen based on its location or availability, this was the same church Krista’s parents got married in nearly 30 years ago.
After a beautiful wedding service, it was time to relax and have some fun! We headed across the street to take a few photos in the same gazebo her parents took their wedding photos in before scurrying over to Liliacia Park in Lombard, IL. With rain quickly moving in, we went right to Krista’s favorite spot in the park for some photos before her Dad surprised her by having Engine 45 from the Lombard Fire Department arrive on the scene so all of Krista’s firehouse uncles could congratulate them on their wedding day. Krista’s father and brother are both firefighters, making it very special to incorporate this into their wedding day. As the rain came rushing in, it was time to head over to Bloomingdale Golf Club for the reception. After a little break inside, the rain stopped and we rushed out onto the golf course for a few more portraits before cocktail hour began. The rest of their wedding day flew by with speeches, tears, laughs, hugs and a whole lot of dancing. They even danced in the rain.
Here’s a little look into Krista and Evan’s wedding day.
