Leah + Tom Indiana Winery Destination Micro Wedding | Whiting + Valparaiso, IN Wedding Photographer
Leah & Tom didn’t plan on having a destination wedding. They also didn’t plan on having a micro wedding. But they knew that with COVID still in our midst, they needed to make some adjustments so they could still have a wedding surrounded by those closest to them. Leah’s aunt lives in Whiting, Indiana and graciously allowed the bridal party to use her house for getting ready, and she was able to secure the use of her church for the wedding ceremony. From the moment I walked into the house, I could tell how much fun everyone was having. Surrounded by her closest friends and family, Leah and her girls all had a blast getting their hair and makeup done. The house was filled with laughs, stories, and smiles everywhere I looked. Once she was in her dress, Leah had an amazing first look with her bridesmaids. After a short 1 mile trip to the church, it was time for a first look with her dad before she walked down the aisle. The ceremony was something very special as Leah & Tom’s priest had come from Illinois to perform their ceremony. After a brief rain delay in heading to the park (we used the time for some family photos), into our cars we went to Lake Front Park in Whiting, Indiana. We dodged a few sprinkles but were able to enjoy the beautiful views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline while taking portraits. Then it was time to jump back into our cars and head over to Anderson Winery in Valparaiso, Indiana for their intimate outdoor reception. It was such a wonderful day, and I was so glad to be back photographing weddings again. Here’s a little look into their wedding day.
